Buy because you’ll get the tax credits, whereas if you lease, the leasing company gets it.

It takes about 5-7 years to get your money back. Depending on the size of your house, it can cost between $15k to $20k.

Is your house surrounded by trees and in the shade, or are you hit with sunlight all the time? This makes a difference, you’ll generate more if your house doesn’t get shade.
Just cut down 16 trees and have another 8 scheduled for next month, Greta is mad at me.

And no, I can't install it myself.

Good, the more sunlight you get the better it is for solar generation. It’s a significant outlay of cash to buy but worth it as long as you don’t plan on selling your house in a couple of years.
